Turmeric Tahini Sauce
Originating in south Asia and related to ginger, turmeric adds warm, earthy aroma and flavor to poultry, fish, vegetables and sauces. Not only does it add a bit of excitement to food, curcumin is the main active ingredient found in turmeric, and has been found to offer a wide range of health benefits, most notably anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects. Here’s a simple, delicious way to use it in a zesty tahini sauce!
Serves 4-6
In a small bowl, mix ¼ cup tahini, the juice of 2 lemons, ½ teaspoon maple syrup, 1 teaspoon curry powder, 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger and ½ teaspoon turmeric. Add water to achieve the desired texture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
