8 New Ways to Eat Apples
As National Apple Day on October 21 approaches, we are sharing new ways to eat apples. Typically we might grab a whole apple as a snack or pair apple slices with nuts or nut butter. These are great ways to enjoy different varieties of apples, but there are so many more.
Add raw apple to savory dishes like grain salads or vegetable sides. Try our Crunchy Apple and Cabbage Slaw.
Braise shredded red cabbage and chopped apples with apple cider vinegar and olive oil.
Make a better-for-you caramel dip for apple slices by mixing tahini and a splash of maple syrup.
Add Granny smith apple slices to a hummus sandwich or wrap.
Roast fall veggies like parsnips, squash or Brussels sprouts with apples.
Infuse water with apple slices. Add a cinnamon stick for garnish!
Add a chopped apple to tuna salad. Put a new spin on it by using Greek yogurt and/or avocado instead of mayo.
Sweet, tart apples pair well with walnuts and creamy avocado—yet another way to dress up your avocado toast.
